VTTV is one of the first and largest energy storage and distribution terminals in the Eastern Mediterranean. The infrastructure of the terminal includes 28 tanks with a capacity of 545,000 cubic meters for liquid fuels, and has a privately owned jetty with 4 berths.

We are looking for an Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our Maintenance & Repair team at our Oil & Gas Storage Terminal, in Vasiliko, Larnaca.

Your role as Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Responsible to maintain and oversee the electrical aspect of the on-going maintenance of the VTTV oil storage Terminal. Responsibilities include keeping the Terminal’s electrical, instrumentation and process assets in good working condition on a day-to-day basis and improving the assets operation in such a way that reliability is increased and cost is reduced. The job oversees coordination of servicing vendors or contractors, working on all types of industrial E&I&P equipment/ systems including medium voltage equipment and performing quality control on the work executed as per the guidelines of the VTTV work instructions. The job interfaces between multiple internal and external resources, to ensure Terminal equipment is meeting health & safety, reliability, and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance, performance evaluation and improvement oversight

  • Responsible to organize and supervise maintenance and inspections works of the inhouse electricians and of external contractors.
  • Responsible to organize, execute and supervise all maintenance and inspections works based on the weekly and annual plan, submitted by the Maintenance Planning to the Engineer.
  • Raise material requisitions in a timely fashion as per the relevant procedures.
  • Discuss pending tasks with Maintenance Planning and assist in the criticality assessment of each task. Participate in all relevant planning meetings and submit input that will assist the completion and scheduling of all electrical tasks. Prepare and/or review applicable work permits, work order documents, method statements, check lists, risk assessments and all other required documentation for the required tasks.
  • Monitor the work execution and participate in and give directions for complex installation, repairs and maintenance of a variety of electrical, instrumentation and process equipment such as tank gauging, actuators, DCS/ESD/FGDAS, MV and LV equipment/ network, electric motors, FIFI equipment, truck loading system, vapor recovery system and all types of electrical & instrumentation and process equipment and systems.
  • Monitor terminal truck loading facilities systems performance and foreseen system abnormalities to reduce corrective maintenance works and reduce asset down time.
  • Performs quality control on the maintenance works executed by Contractor’s as per the guidelines of the work instructions and international standards.
  • Furnish the 24/7 on – call organization as per the generated on – call schedule.
  • Participates in the improvement of WIs, CHs and PRs submitted in QoL.
  • Reports and discusses accidents, incidents, pollution or emission occurrences and near misses with the supervisor.

Project Management

  • Create scopes of work for electrical, instrumentation and process maintenance activities.
  • Review bid proposals for accuracy and scope of work alignment and make award recommendations.
  • Develop small projects objectives that has been assigned, by reviewing proposals and by discussing with management.
  • Determine project responsibilities by identifying phases and elements assigning personnel to phases and elements.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Maintains project schedule plan by reviewing design, specifications and plan and schedule changes.
  • Control project schedule and cost by approving expenditures.
  • Create and maintain company AS BUILT documentation.

Vendor/Contractor Management

  • Submit annual evaluation report of electrical Vendor/Contractors to the Technical manager.
  • As applicable, monitor vendor/contractor work quality and mitigate poor performance issues.
  • Make recommendations for onboarding new vendor resources that create value for the company.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Provide input for upcoming preventative maintenance needs to be inserted in to the budget process.
  • Help to analyse root cause of chronic maintenance issues at a Terminal level and make recommendations to budget for improvements or major expense projects.

Other Responsibilities

  • Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned, such as, ensuring the observance of safety and fire regulations, good housekeeping, and that material is salvaged and reconditioned wherever possible and proposing improvements.
  • Attends health & safety and toolbox meetings and submit his input.
  • Follows Company rules and regulations at all times.
  • Ensures that the standards required by Law, HSE and Management are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with the government regulations.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering,
  • 5 years+ experience as Electrical Engineer in Oil Storage or Heavy Industrial Environment,
  • Electrical Engineer Competence Certificate Class B or higher,
  • Scientific Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK)
  • Ability to work well under pressure,
  • Effective Communication, teamwork and adaptability,
